Just to inform everyone who had been participating in online competitions and battle of the bands, this is not another online competition or battle of the bands. It is a serious platform which will benefit you in every possible way. It is only for the new talent not for already established bands. As it is created only for new talent by individual efforts, we hope your participation, support and suggestions; apart of this we also need a lot of volunteers to make it successful. |

Event Schedule
PHASE 1: SUBMISSION PHASE
The call for entries will start on 7th Feb; contestants can submit their music after 7th Feb. In order to compete, contestants must see Terms & Conditions
PHASE 2: NOMINATION PHASE
The call for entries will close as of 1st March, 2010. A nominating committee appointed by the executive board will review the submissions. Once the committee has reviewed the submissions, they will choose no more than 5 artists per category for nomination. The nominations will be released on 22nd March, 2010. The nominees will be contacted and notified of their nomination. An artist can be nominated for more than one category.
PHASE 3: FINAL VOTING PHASE
The winners of the Surkul Underground Music Awards are determined via Online voting by the general public. A music clip and the name of each nominee within the individual categories will be placed on the awards website. On March 23rd, 2010, the public will be able to vote for the winners of each category via online and SMS. The voting process ends on April 7th, 2010. The nominee who receives the most online votes will win for the category they are competing in. In addition there will be special awards presented for: Lifetime Achievement, Best youth magazine & best upcoming Fashion Designer.
PHASE 4: THE OFFICIAL 1st ANNUAL UNDERGROUND MUSIC AWARDS CEREMONY
The votes will be tabulated and the winners will be presented awards at the 1st Annual Underground Music Awards ceremony to be held on 10/04/10. Each winner will receive an official Underground Music Award trophy. There will be special guest performances, Celebrities Comments, and Media Participation. In addition, you can expect any surprising offer (Album, website, video, photo shoot etc) from the media celebrities during the award show. Below are additional rules and regulations: --Each song must be an original recording. --Only a max of three songs can be submitted per artist/Band. No submission will be processed without the 1000 RS non-refundable entry fee. In order to preserve the integrity of this competition, friends and artists of the staff of Surkul Productions & PMR are not eligible to participate.
